Cedar Fencing is a straight grain fence popular for fencing, however there are dozens of cedar fencing, the traditional long lasting cedar is WESTERN RED CEDAR. Natural pine lumber treated for termites is the ONLY lumber that is warranted against termites and mold fungus that lives off the cellular wood fibers. What does the warranty cover? The chemical manufacturer warranty covers structural integrity of the fence lumber specifically for these causes. Wood Fence Costs and Pricing – Privacy Fence
The term Privacy Fence here is a broad based group of full height natural wood fencing. This grouping is broken down into structure and then into toppings to make it easier to understand.
First, the structure consist of the classic privacy fence (boards nailed tightly together), then shadowbox fence (boards nailed opposite sides of backing rails with overlap), and the spaced privacy (boards are nailed specific spacing apart).
Now that you have the 3 main structure descriptions there are 3 main toppings. Beginning with the Classic Style (dog eared boards, in straight line), the Charleston Style (boards are trimmed in upward arch in center of section), and the Windsor Style ( boards are trimmed in downward scallop to the center of section). While there are hundreds more variations available, these represent about 87% of the total natural wood fence styles we have installed. The more customized the fence the more labor and thus they are more expensive to install. Classic natural wood privacy fencing will range from about $13.5o to $26 per foot installed, with most popular options ranging from $15- $20.50 per foot.
