BRYANT FENCE · EAST TENNESSEE
THE RIGHT FIT FOR YOUR SPACE
Safe around the water, first.
Aluminum and vinyl are the most popular pool fences here. They look great, but a pool fence also has to meet the rules for your address.
We check with your local building office first, then plan the height, gates and latches to match. Every way into the pool area counts, including doors from the house.

SEE THE POSSIBILITIES
Pool fence styles that keep the view open.
Browse pool fences we've built across East Tennessee, from open aluminum to classic vinyl picket, each paired with a self-closing, self-latching gate. Your estimator will confirm heights, gates and current options for your address.
A CLEARER QUOTE
Plan the whole project.
Pool fence pricing comes down to material, height, footage and gates. The gates matter most, because they have to close and latch on their own.
Have your survey handy and point out every way into the pool area, including doors from the house. We’ll plan around all of them.
Before the first post

Pool Fence Safety & Code
Pool fences have specific safety requirements. Things like minimum height, picket spacing that prevents climbing, and self-closing, self-latching gates. We build to meet these requirements and confirm the current rules for your property so your pool passes inspection.
What the City of Knoxville requires. Residential pool barriers inside city limits follow Section 305 of the 2018 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code. The city's published guidelines include:
- At least 48 inches tall, measured on the outside of the fence (5 feet or taller is recommended)
- No opening a 4-inch ball can pass through
- No more than 2 inches of clearance under the fence over grass or gravel, or 4 inches over concrete
- Walk gates that open outward, away from the pool, and close and latch on their own
- A latch release at least 54 inches high, or on the pool side at least 3 inches below the top of the gate
- A pool water alarm at final inspection, which Tennessee law requires
Knox County, Farragut and other towns have their own codes offices, and your homeowners insurance may set stricter rules. We confirm the current requirements for your address before we build. Read the City of Knoxville pool barrier guidelines.
Why Aluminum Is the Go-To
Aluminum doesn't rust in a wet pool environment, gives you an open view to supervise swimmers, and racks to follow sloped decks. Learn more on our aluminum fence page.
